As we explore roofing trends in Oconomowoc, we can’t overlook how local climate influences our choices.
We’ve noticed a shift towards popular materials like asphalt and metal, reflecting both durability and energy efficiency.
Taking into account Oconomowoc’s humid continental climate, we must choose roofing materials that can endure both heavy snowfall and summer heat while guaranteeing energy efficiency and durability.
With an average annual snowfall of around 41 inches, our roofing systems need to be designed to handle significant snow loads and prevent ice damming. This is where professional roofing contractors come into play, guiding us in selecting the right materials that will protect our homes effectively.
During the warm summer months, temperatures can soar into the mid-80s°F, so it’s essential to opt for roofing options that reflect heat and contribute to energy efficiency.
Additionally, with rainfall averaging 35 inches annually, we need to ascertain our roofs have proper drainage systems and waterproofing to prevent leaks and water damage.
As we look to install a new roof or enhance our existing ones, it’s wise to reflect on maintenance plans that suit Oconomowoc’s climate challenges.
With Oconomowoc’s unique climate challenges in mind, we can explore the roofing materials that are trending in our area, reflecting both practicality and aesthetic appeal.
Asphalt shingles remain the most popular choice due to their affordability and versatility, with installation costs for residential properties ranging from $10,000 to $15,000. This material provides a reliable option for many homeowners.
Metal roofing has also gained traction in recent years, thanks to its durability and resilience, often costing similar to cedar wood roofing, which appeals to those looking for a more classic look. Cedar wood roofing is particularly favored for its aesthetic charm in historic homes, contributing to the unique character of our local architecture.
Additionally, designed asphalt roofing is increasingly chosen for its customizable options, enhancing curb appeal while falling within the price range of $20,000 to $30,000.
To guarantee longevity and maintain property values, we recommend yearly inspections and maintenance of these roofing materials.
As we navigate through the seasons in Oconomowoc, we need to stay proactive about our roof maintenance.
Winter can bring harsh conditions that lead to issues like ice damming, while spring demands our attention to guarantee we’re ready for summer storms.
Winter roof maintenance in Oconomowoc is vital for safeguarding our homes against the harsh effects of heavy snowfall and ice accumulation. Regular inspections by a reliable roofing company can help us identify vulnerabilities like loose shingles or damaged flashing before winter hits. This proactive approach prevents costly repairs during the season and protects our roofs from potential hail damage.
After significant snowfall, we should clear roofs of snow and ice buildup to reduce weight and avoid moisture-related issues. Installing gutter guards can also be beneficial, as they prevent blockages that could lead to ice dams.
Proper ventilation is important during this time, too, as it helps avoid condensation buildup in attics, which can lead to mold and rot if neglected.
If we need to make any structural changes or repairs, we should remember that we might need a permit, depending on the scope of the work. Scheduling yearly winter inspections guarantees that our roofs can withstand Wisconsin’s harsh weather, ultimately prolonging their lifespan and enhancing our home’s value.
Spring storms in Oconomowoc can bring significant challenges, so we need to prepare our roofs to withstand heavy rain and strong winds. Regular inspections give us the chance to identify potential issues like loose shingles or debris buildup before they escalate. By clearing gutters and downspouts of blockages, we guarantee proper drainage and reduce the risk of water pooling on the roof.
It’s also essential to check for ice damming and confirm our attic insulation is adequate. This helps prevent water infiltration as temperatures rise and snow melts. Additionally, maintaining tree branches away from our roofs minimizes the risk of damage from falling limbs during stormy weather.
Before the storms hit, documenting our roof’s condition can aid in insurance claims if damage occurs, reinforcing the importance of thorough seasonal maintenance.
If we’re unsure about any of these tasks or want the best roofing assessment, we should contact us for a professional evaluation. Our team does a great job of guaranteeing our roofs are storm-ready, giving us peace of mind when the weather takes a turn.
Let’s stay proactive and safeguard our homes together!
Moving on to the spring and getting our new roof and gutters installed and completed, my wife and I are extremely pleased with the work that Heinz Contracting said they would do. Again, it’s all really a massive heart felt “THANK YOU” to the talents of Adam, Brandon and their crew. I would never tell you what to do, but I will ask, if you are looking for a contractor to help you through a process, where it seems difficult to choose, please reach out to Adam and Brandon of Heinz Contracting before you make your choice. Heinz Contracting followed through with what they said they would do!
We had an amazing experience with them for our condo association’s full roof replacement across all four buildings. From start to finish, they were professional, efficient, and always kept us in the loop. They helped coordinate the work smoothly with our residents, ensuring minimal disruption. Bryan the owner personally confirmed that everything was cleaned up afterwards and came back again after some of our owners noticed some minor debris left behind.
Overall, we couldn’t be happier with the results. We would strongly recommend Hiens Contracting to the owners of our association and to anyone else in our community looking for high-quality roofing work.
Thank you Bryan and the entire Heins Team!!!
Derek was great to work with and promptly answered all of our questions throughout the whole process, from estimate to completion. Their crews’ quality of work and attention to detail were amazing and the project was completed quickly. Follow-up details were addressed without issue and our satisfaction seemed to be truly valued.
We will definitely be reaching out again for future projects!
10/10 would highly recommend!!!
DJ was equally prompt and courteous in adjusting the final balance when I brought this to his attention.
A good experience all around.
Sincerely Steve Chadderdon
That was not the case with Heins Contracting. Brandon took the time to explain all the little details and even went over the estimate with us so that we understood exactly what was going to be done. Brandon even offered to be here when our insurance adjuster came. He also was on vacation and was reaching out to us to make sure someone delivered the samples and asking if we found something we liked. Brandon went above and beyond to find the shingles we wanted after we were told they might not be available. The crews that came were fantastic and friendly. Extremely professional and kind. We absolutely love our new roof and gutters. I will be recommending them to anyone and everyone. Thank you Brandon and the rest of the Heins crew for being so great. We are so happy with the work you did.
roof and I am having new windows installed. I would strongly recommend this company for your construction needs.
Price was very competitive and workmanship first rate. Would hire them again (but hope I don’t have to…).
Heins Contracting is the best of the best when it comes to quality, being on time, communication, and so much more. They have you feeling like your part of the family. They made me feel comfortable right away. They truly care about what they do you can see it when you talk with anyone of them. I don’t know if I should say this, but the even did the fascia, soffits, and gutter FREE!!!😳 That’s right I said free!!This was the best experience I’ve ever had from any company that I have ever dealt with. Heins Contracting is what America should be in the industry. Thank you guys so much for honering my grandfather as a veteran. What you did for him was the best surprise In his life. He still talks about you guys. If these guys stayed any longer they probably would have mowed my yard, painted my house, and taken out the trash. They truly care. I hope the best for HEINS CONTRACTING. You’ll see how awesome they are when you hire the family.

They weren’t the cheapest, but they were the right choice for us.
I talked to 11 different roofing & siding companies before deciding on Heins and I’m glad I did. They were one of the few installers that weren’t pushy or didn’t ignore us altogether.
We considered replacing the siding too, but we only bought the place a couple years ago and they determined it was only a few years older than that. Several of the other companies we talked to tried to convince us we needed new siding.
Bryan and his team were knowledgeable, patient and professional.
The estimate and inspection process was quick and comprehensive.
We changed our minds a few times and they were able to answer all of our questions promptly and made sure we understood what needed to be done, why and what everything would cost.
Unlike a number of other roofers in town, they use a variety of different roofing brands and I was able to upgrade our roof for just a little bit more.
They replaced our gutters with top of the line leaf guards for less than what professional gutter companies charge.
On installation day, everything was delivered with notice and on time.
The installation team was fast, courteous & meticulous. Everything was done in a day or so and still cost thousands less than the other companies we considered. Everything is under warranty and they’ve been around long enough to stand by it.
Our window experience was just as good. There were some supply issues, so we had to order them a while in advance, but when they arrived, we scheduled our installation within a week. Installation only took a day and with our insulated windows, we were finally able to use our sun room during the winter!
I’d recommend Heins for roofing, siding or windows in a heartbeat and I’ve told all of our neighbors about them.
They have been informative and responsive throughout the entire process.
Thank You to the whole team for going above and beyond the expected!!

When considering roofing materials, we evaluate options like asphalt shingles, metal, and slate. Each offers unique benefits, but we prioritize durability and energy efficiency, ensuring our roofs withstand local weather while enhancing our properties’ value.
We should inspect our roofs at least twice a year, ideally in spring and fall. Regular checks help us catch damage early, ensuring our homes remain safe and protected from the elements.
We can install a new roof over an existing one, but it’s essential to check local building codes and guarantee the current roof’s condition supports the additional weight. Let’s evaluate our specific situation carefully.
We should look for signs like missing shingles, leaks, and sagging areas. If we notice granules in gutters or daylight through the roof, it’s time to reflect on a replacement to guarantee safety and integrity.
