Our reputation in small towns like Belmont is built on consistency and care. Each service is completed with long-term performance and local climate considerations in mind.
Our crews understand how quickly a minor exterior issue can grow into a larger problem in Wisconsin’s seasonal extremes. That’s why we emphasize proactive solutions, helping you make smart decisions before issues escalate. Local expertise, reliable service, and transparent pricing define what we do in Belmont.
Wisconsin’s diverse weather patterns pose serious challenges for roofing systems, especially in smaller communities like Belmont. In winter, sub-zero temperatures and wind chills push materials to their limits, while summers regularly bring highs near 85°F and heavy humidity. This freeze-thaw cycle causes roof materials to expand and contract, leading to cracks, water intrusion, or mold issues when not addressed early.
Homeowners in the Belmont area tend to live in homes built 30–50 years ago, many of which have outdated materials or aging shingles nearing the end of their lifespan. As asphalt roofs generally last about 20–25 years, many properties are due for an upgrade. Ownership rates in Lafayette County are also higher than average, which means more residents are investing in long-term improvements instead of temporary fixes.
Heavy snowfall, ice dams, and rapid thawing in spring can all place enormous stress on older roofing systems. In Belmont, roof leaks often surface in early spring due to ice accumulation from winter, while clogged gutters and poor ventilation amplify moisture issues in warmer months. A reliable inspection schedule can help detect these weaknesses before they result in major repairs.
Summer storms also introduce challenges, from hail damage to high wind uplift. For homes with older shingles or missing flashing, one strong storm can leave areas exposed. Heins Contracting helps Belmont residents assess storm impacts and plan appropriate next steps, whether it’s basic repairs or a full roof replacement.
In towns like Belmont where historic homes are common, aging roofs often come with structural vulnerabilities beneath the surface. Old flashing systems, saturated insulation, and outdated attic ventilation can all contribute to ongoing performance issues. That’s why surface repairs alone may not offer a lasting fix.
Many homeowners in the area are choosing to upgrade to more resilient materials, including architectural shingles or metal roofing, to reduce future maintenance. Heins Contracting works with each client to balance current costs with long-term value, ensuring every dollar spent contributes to a better-protected home.
Every season presents its own risks for Belmont homeowners, and staying ahead of roof maintenance can prevent costly surprises. From ice buildup in winter to clogged gutters during fall, proactive care is key to keeping your roofing system strong and efficient all year long. Even small seasonal checkups help prevent issues from escalating.
Homeowners benefit most when seasonal maintenance is paired with expert insight. At Heins Contracting, we recommend tailored maintenance strategies based on each roof’s condition, material type, and age. This helps prevent small cracks, moss buildup, or ventilation issues from affecting your energy bills or interior comfort.
During Belmont’s cold months, snow accumulation and ice dams are a major concern. When attic heat escapes and melts snow unevenly, it often refreezes at the roof’s edge, trapping moisture underneath shingles. This can lead to rotted decking, interior leaks, and insulation damage if not addressed.
As temperatures rise in spring, roof leaks tend to reveal themselves around chimneys, valleys, or skylights. It’s also when homeowners notice moss, missing shingles, or flashing gaps that formed during winter. Scheduling a spring inspection helps identify any lingering issues and prevents further water damage during rainy months.
In summer, UV rays and heat can degrade shingles, especially on south-facing roofs. Ventilation becomes a key focus, as trapped attic heat raises indoor temperatures and accelerates roof aging. Heins Contracting evaluates ventilation and insulation levels to ensure efficient airflow and reduce energy costs.
By fall, it’s time to clear out debris from gutters and check for weathered sealant or curling shingles. With Belmont’s windy autumns, loose components become a hazard. A thorough pre-winter prep ensures your roof can handle upcoming snow and ice with minimal risk. Homeowners who maintain a seasonal checklist are often spared from emergency calls.
Moving on to the spring and getting our new roof and gutters installed and completed, my wife and I are extremely pleased with the work that Heinz Contracting said they would do. Again, it’s all really a massive heart felt “THANK YOU” to the talents of Adam, Brandon and their crew. I would never tell you what to do, but I will ask, if you are looking for a contractor to help you through a process, where it seems difficult to choose, please reach out to Adam and Brandon of Heinz Contracting before you make your choice. Heinz Contracting followed through with what they said they would do!
We had an amazing experience with them for our condo association’s full roof replacement across all four buildings. From start to finish, they were professional, efficient, and always kept us in the loop. They helped coordinate the work smoothly with our residents, ensuring minimal disruption. Bryan the owner personally confirmed that everything was cleaned up afterwards and came back again after some of our owners noticed some minor debris left behind.
Overall, we couldn’t be happier with the results. We would strongly recommend Hiens Contracting to the owners of our association and to anyone else in our community looking for high-quality roofing work.
Thank you Bryan and the entire Heins Team!!!
Derek was great to work with and promptly answered all of our questions throughout the whole process, from estimate to completion. Their crews’ quality of work and attention to detail were amazing and the project was completed quickly. Follow-up details were addressed without issue and our satisfaction seemed to be truly valued.
We will definitely be reaching out again for future projects!
10/10 would highly recommend!!!
DJ was equally prompt and courteous in adjusting the final balance when I brought this to his attention.
A good experience all around.
Sincerely Steve Chadderdon
That was not the case with Heins Contracting. Brandon took the time to explain all the little details and even went over the estimate with us so that we understood exactly what was going to be done. Brandon even offered to be here when our insurance adjuster came. He also was on vacation and was reaching out to us to make sure someone delivered the samples and asking if we found something we liked. Brandon went above and beyond to find the shingles we wanted after we were told they might not be available. The crews that came were fantastic and friendly. Extremely professional and kind. We absolutely love our new roof and gutters. I will be recommending them to anyone and everyone. Thank you Brandon and the rest of the Heins crew for being so great. We are so happy with the work you did.
roof and I am having new windows installed. I would strongly recommend this company for your construction needs.
Price was very competitive and workmanship first rate. Would hire them again (but hope I don’t have to…).

Heins Contracting is what America should be in the industry. Thank you guys so much for honering my grandfather as a veteran. What you did for him was the best surprise In his life. He still talks about you guys. If these guys stayed any longer they probably would have mowed my yard, painted my house, and taken out the trash. They truly care. I hope the best for HEINS CONTRACTING. You’ll see how awesome they are when you hire the family.

They weren’t the cheapest, but they were the right choice for us.
I talked to 11 different roofing & siding companies before deciding on Heins and I’m glad I did. They were one of the few installers that weren’t pushy or didn’t ignore us altogether.
We considered replacing the siding too, but we only bought the place a couple years ago and they determined it was only a few years older than that. Several of the other companies we talked to tried to convince us we needed new siding.
Bryan and his team were knowledgeable, patient and professional.
The estimate and inspection process was quick and comprehensive.
We changed our minds a few times and they were able to answer all of our questions promptly and made sure we understood what needed to be done, why and what everything would cost.
Unlike a number of other roofers in town, they use a variety of different roofing brands and I was able to upgrade our roof for just a little bit more.
They replaced our gutters with top of the line leaf guards for less than what professional gutter companies charge.
On installation day, everything was delivered with notice and on time.
The installation team was fast, courteous & meticulous. Everything was done in a day or so and still cost thousands less than the other companies we considered. Everything is under warranty and they’ve been around long enough to stand by it.
Our window experience was just as good. There were some supply issues, so we had to order them a while in advance, but when they arrived, we scheduled our installation within a week. Installation only took a day and with our insulated windows, we were finally able to use our sun room during the winter!
I’d recommend Heins for roofing, siding or windows in a heartbeat and I’ve told all of our neighbors about them.
They have been informative and responsive throughout the entire process.
Thank You to the whole team for going above and beyond the expected!!

Roofing costs in Belmont vary based on home size, slope, materials, and labor complexity, but most full roof replacements fall between $8,000 and $15,000. Material choices like metal or composite shingles can shift the cost upward, while minor repairs may be much more affordable. Knowing when to repair and when to replace is part of making the smartest investment for your home.
For many Belmont homeowners, insurance plays a key role in covering storm damage, especially after hail or wind events. Heins Contracting helps clients navigate claim processes to ensure they receive fair assessments and clear scopes of work. In some cases, combining roof repairs with new siding or energy-efficient windows can qualify for rebates or long-term savings.
The pitch and complexity of your roof, the material chosen, and the number of layers to remove will all impact pricing. Belmont homes with steep or multi-section roofs often require more labor and safety equipment, which is reflected in estimates. Asphalt remains the most cost-effective option, but longer-lasting materials may offer greater value over time.
Labor rates in southwestern Wisconsin remain competitive, but there’s growing demand for quality contractors during peak seasons. That’s why scheduling estimates early—especially in spring or summer—can help lock in better timelines and reduce delays. A properly timed replacement also helps avoid sudden repairs when the weather turns harsh.
Homeowners in Belmont should factor in both short-term affordability and long-term savings. A newer roof can improve energy efficiency, protect home value, and even lower insurance premiums depending on the material. If your current roof is over 20 years old or shows signs of damage, replacing it may offer more value than continued repairs.
To get a clearer idea of cost for your specific home, we recommend starting with a no-obligation quote. Request a free estimate today and let our team walk you through your options—no pressure, just clear answers based on what your home actually needs.

Many roofs in Belmont are over 20 years old, which is typically the lifespan for asphalt shingles. If you’re seeing signs like curling shingles, frequent leaks, or missing sections after storms, it may be time to replace rather than patch. A local inspection can help determine if structural issues or water damage are affecting the roof’s integrity, especially after Wisconsin’s harsh winters.
Yes, in most cases, insurance covers roof damage caused by wind, hail, or falling tree limbs, common risks in the Belmont area. However, coverage can depend on the policy, roof age, and proper documentation. Heins Contracting regularly works with homeowners to assess storm-related damage and assist with the insurance claims process.
Late spring through early fall is ideal for roof replacements in Belmont. The weather is typically dry and temperatures are optimal for material installation. Scheduling early in the season can help avoid delays due to high demand or unexpected storms, while also ensuring your roof is ready before winter sets in.
